Repeat Prescription Request

We aim to make the repeat prescription process safe and efficient for all our patients. Please read the following guidelines before submitting your request:

In-Person Consultations & Review

  • Prescriptions are typically issued during an in-person consultation, where a treatment plan is agreed upon.

  • If it has been more than 6 months since your last consultation, or if you are on medications that require blood tests or blood pressure monitoring, you may be advised (via text or email) that a follow-up consultation is required before your repeat prescription can be issued.

  • For 12-month prescription requests, an in-person review may also be necessary.

Fees & Payment

  • A repeat prescription fee applies for private patients, which must be paid before your request can be processed.

  • If you are requesting medication under the Government Free Contraception Scheme, please submit your request as a public patient — this service is free of charge.

Important Notes

  • This form is not for acute medication such as antibiotics, steroids, pain relief, or other urgent medications.

  • Please book an appointment with your GP or contact CareDoc (0818 300 365) for out-of-hours care.

  • Please allow up to 5 working days for your prescription request to be processed.

Antibiotic Prescriptions

Please note that any prescription for antibiotics will require a full assessment by the GP. Antibiotics are prescribed based on medical need and after evaluating your symptoms to ensure they are appropriate for your condition.

If you believe you need antibiotics, please schedule an appointment with your GP for an assessment. This helps ensure safe and responsible use of antibiotics.

If you have any questions or are unsure whether a consultation is required, please contact our reception team for guidance.
