If a Fit to Return to Work certificate is required, this must be completed following a full Occupational Health Assessment by a GP.

Important Information:

• This is a private assessment and is not covered by the medical card.

• A Fit to Return to Work certificate is typically requested by the employer, not the patient, and is usually carried out at the employer’s expense.

• The assessment involves a medical evaluation by a GP to determine whether the individual is medically fit to safely return to their role.

 

Please note that a certificate will only be issued if the GP is satisfied that the individual is fit to resume work duties.
